What lies beneath the surface of our consciousness? What emotions and thoughts do we keep hidden from ourselves and others?
The red elements, reminiscent of branches or veins, symbolize the life force flowing through the depicted person, as well as the intensity and complexity of their feelings. The upward movement of the red elements suggests a release, a liberation from the limitations and expectations of the outside world.
The eyes are closed, indicating a detachment from sensory reality and a focus on the inner world.
The dark texture around the neck and face symbolizes the protective layers built up over time, which are now being broken down by the power of emotions.
